Kathmandu, April 10
Madhyapur Youth Association (MYA) lifted the title of the B Division National League Football Tournament defeating Sankata Club 1-0 on Tuesday at Buddhi Bikash Khel Mandal.
Thakur Shrestha scored the winning goal for Madhyapur Youth Association (MYA) in the 9th minutes of the first half. The Sankata player also got many chances during the match but all in vain.
Both teams were playing in pressure as the title win will promote them to the A Division National League. Madhyapur topped the league table with 16 points from 7 matches while with 13 points Sankta Club (SC) satisfied in the third place worth of Rs. 75,000.
Birgunj Youth Academy (BYA) Club occupied second position with 15 points and bagged home Rs 1, 00,000. Kasturi Club collected nine points to win Rs. 50,000 as they stayed at the fourth spot.
In the first match of the day, Chyasal Youth Club defeated Tushal Youth Club 3-0.
Bhola Byanjankar, Sajan Pradhan and Susan Gurung scored for the winning side.
Dipesh Yadav bagged the title of the best goalkeeper and Nishan Nepali of Birgunj Youth Academy (BYC) took home the title of best forward with cash prize Rs.15, 000.
Rupendra Shrestha of Madhyapur Youth Association (MYA) was declared as the best defender and his coach Prakash Baidhya was adjudged best coach while Ajaya BK of the Trinity Youth Club was crowned with the title of the best midfielder.
