Kathmandu, May 7:
The government has formed a three-member dialogue team to hold talks with representatives of the agitators for the undivided far-western region.
A meeting of the two main ruling parties, UCPN-Maoist and Nepali Congress, on Monday took a decision to this effect.
Deputy Prime Minister and Nepali Congress general secretary Krishna Prasad Situala, Minister and Maoist leader Barsha Man Pun and Minister Mahendra Yadav are the members of the government talk team.
"We have formed the dialogue team and urged the agitators for talks," Nepali Congress vice-president Ram Chandra Paudel informed the reporters after the meeting held at Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai urged the agitators to come up for dialogue as the government was ready to solve the problems.
The people of the eight districts of the far-western development regions have been demonstrating in the region for the 11 days demanding that all the districts in the region should be included in a federal province. They have been also been imposing band for the same which has severely affected the normal life.
