Kathmandu, July 5:
Aadibasi-Janajati leaders Friday announced that they would launch a new party which would advocate for the interests of the indigenous people.
Concluding that the major political parties failed to address the issues and interests of the indigenous people, the Janajati leaders announced that they would launch a new political party.
At a press conference, they made public an 11-point declaration following a two-day national conference organized by Nepal Federation of Indigenous Nationalities.
At the press meet, the Janajati leaders said that there was no alternative to promulgating the new constitution through the Constituent Assembly.
They warned that they would not accept a constitution promulgated from outside the CA.
Stating that there was no alternative to going for the constitution with federalism and federalism with identity, they unveiled their plans to expose the anti-federalist forces.
Reiterating their demand of the CA reinstatement, the Janajati leaders maintained that the political parties representing the dissolved CA should settle the disputed issues of the new constitution before the CA is reinstated.
They plan to start awareness and boycott campaign against the anti-federal forces from July 16.
