Prakash named Maoist party’s Dy leader at CA


Kathmandu, Feb. 21

A meeting of the Central Secretariat Committee of the Unified CPN-Maoist held today designated Secretariat Member Narayan Kaji Shrestha ‘Prakash’ as Deputy Leader of the CA legislature-parliament and Finance Minister Babu Ram Bhattarai as the Chief of Government Steering Committee.

Similarly, the meeting also decided to form various three high level commissions to systematise the party central office and Office of the Prime Minister, and to identify the Tarai problem and seek solution, according to Spokesperson and Secertariat Member of the party Dina Nath Sharma.

A five-member committee with political and executive power has been formed in order to systematise the office of the Prime Minister. The committee has Barsha Man Pun ‘Ananta’, Top Bahadur Rayamajhi ‘Anil’, Netra Bikram Chand ‘Biplav’, Lila Mani Pokhrel and PM’s personal secretary Shakti Bahadur Basnet. The committee will help pm while taking decision.

There are PM Prachanda, Central Secretariat Member Mohan Vaidya ‘Kiran’, Spokesperson Dinanath Sharma and Office Secretary Narayan Prasad Dahal in the party office managment committee.

According to Spokesperon Sharma, there would be central leader in the government steering committee which would make effective the governement activities.

Similarly, party leader Lila Mani Pokhrel will lead the high level commission regarding Madhes problems and their solution. Other members in the commission are Post Bahadur Bogati ‘Divakar’, Barsha Man Pun ‘Ananta’ and Ram Rijan Yadav. A legal expert will be added in the commission.

Spokesperson Sharma said the commissiion is given 3 months period to submit its report.

Moreover, a 13-member publicity and punlication department has been formed under the chairmanship of Spokesperson Sharma by the meeting.

It was also decided to terminate the revolutionary people’s council as per the changed context.

Likewise, the party has selected the candidates for the forthcoming April 10 by-elections. However, the names would be made public later.
