Janakpur, April16
Minister for Information and Communications Raj Kishor Yadav Monday said that he was confident that a new constitution will be promulgated by May 27 if the political parties demonstrated political honesty.
Talking to journalists at Janakpur Airport, Minister Yadav said that all the political parties should come to an agreement on the form of governance. He said that his party’s stance on the topic has not changed.
Minister Yadav said the Madhesh-based parties could be flexible on other issues if the eight-point agreement signed with the then prime minister Girija Prasad Koirala gets implemented.
Responding to a query, Minister Yadav said that his party would seek an alternative path if political parties including the Nepali Congress did not agree on the agenda of one Madhesh province.
He expressed his hope that the meeting at Hattiban Resort will come up with decisions for completing the peace process and constitution writing including state restructuring, electoral system and form of judiciary.
