Major parties responsible for failure of CA: Maoist leader
By Our Correspondent

Pokhara, June 9

UCPN-Maoist standing committee member Dev Gurung Saturday said that the main political parties were responsible for the failure of the Constituent Assembly.

Speaking at a program organized by the Tamu Media Persons’ Organization here, Maoist leader Gurung claimed that the CA failed to deliver the new constitution because top leaders of the main political parties were not interested in any constitution.

Stating that pro-federal leaders and parties should lead the new government, Gurung further said that a consensus government could not be formed without forging consensus among the political parties.

He said, "Indigenous people are the true federalists. That’s why they should lead the new government."

Maoist leader Gurung stressed on proportionate and inclusive participation of the indigenous people into all organs of the state.

At the program, three journalists belonging to the Tamu community, Khem Ghale, Bhim Gurung and Rita Gurung were awarded.

Meanwhile, UCPN-Maoist secretary CP Gajurel said in Biratnagar

that the announcement of the fresh CA polls was only a bluff from party chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai.

Talking to journalists, he claimed that the dream of the Prime Minister who announced the polls by blocking all constitutional measures and of chairman who gave such suggestions would never be fulfilled.

Stating that the holding of polls was impossible, he said that drafting the new constitution through a round table conference and promulgating it from the people-elected parliament would be the best option.

He also said that the present government had no right to remain in power even for a minute. He also accused the Prime Minister and Prachanda of being responsible for the CA dissolution.

He said that Baidhya faction was likely to form a new party next month.
