Kathmandu, June 10:

Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai has said the guilty of the Pasera incident would be brought to book.

Prime Minister Dr Bhattarai made such commitment while receiving a memorandum submitted by the Dalit leaders and right defenders at his residence, Baluwatar on Sunday.

The Pasera incident is about the killing of Shiva Shankar Das of Pasera, Saptari in January this year. The relatives of Das have claimed that he was poisoned to death by the relatives of a girl whom Das had the love affair. They further said Das was killed because he loved the girl belonging to other caste.

The police had denied registering first incident report (FIR) but did it after two months following the pressure from the human rights organizations.

With the right defenders, the Prime Minister further assured of immediate relief and compensation to the victim’s family from the government side.
