CA revival impossible: Gachchhadar
By Our Correspondent

Biratnagar, June 13

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs Bijay Kumar Gachchhadar has said that the election of the Constituent Assembly was the best possible option to give a positive headway to the nation.

Talking to journalists at Biratnagar Airport on Wednesday, DPM Gachchhadar, however, ruled out the possibility of reviving the defunct constituent assembly.

"The CA election should be held by amending the interim constitution and forging national consensus among all the political parties," Gachchhadar said.

The Supreme Court has suggested that election of the constituent assembly can be a way out when the CA is dissolved. There is no option to writing the new constitution through Constituent Assembly, said Gachchhadar.

He added that different ethnic communities including Madhesi people have wished to see a constitution promulgated by a Constituent Assembly.

Gachchhadar ruled out the resignation of Prime Minster Dr. Baburam Bhattarai despite heavy criticism from the opposition parties Nepali Congress, CPN-UML and other fringe parties.

Home Minister Gachchhadar claimed that the government would bring new budget through ordinance after building consensus with the opposition political parties.

Recalling precedence of past governments presenting budget through ordinance, Gachchhadar said that it can be done this time as well.

Gachchhadar claimed that Prime Minister Dr. Bhattarai led government would not step down until national consensus government would be formed. "The country could not remain without executive head," Gachchhadar said.

At the function, Minister

Gachchhadar inaugurated the newly constructed training centre constructed in the name of Jitendra Sah Academy.

The meeting was also addressed by Rajendra Prasad Sah, chairman of Madhesi Civil Servant Forum, Sunsari, S.N. Mahato of Madhesi Janadhikar Forum Democratic, Devi Ram Madhesi of Sadhavawana Party, Pradeep Chaudhary of Democratic Forum, Bhagirath Khatwe of Forum Nepal and among others.
