Jordan, Uzbekistan Cruise into U-22 Asia Cup final

Twin goal from Oudi Khader helped Jordan come from behind to beat Uzbekistan 3-1 while Al Gabr hat trick guidedYemen thrash Bangladesh 5-1 in the AFC U-22 Asia Cup 2013 Group D Qualifiers on Sunday at Dasarath Stadium.

Jordan had already booked their ticket to the final round but despite of defeat Uzbekistan advanced in the Cup on better head-to-head goal record against Yemen.

The Uzbek took the lead in the 32nd minutes as Abdukholiqov took the ball from the center and beat offside trap to slot the ball into the net. But they could not hold onto their lead as Jordan restored the parity in the 82nd minutes from the header off Khader to the cross ball off Ahmed Saleh.

Five minutes later Khader put the Jordan in front with another stunning header. The drama ended in the injury time as Uzbek goalie Safaev conceded silly mistake and Zaid tapped the moment to kill the match.

In the first match of the day, dominant Yemen found the five goals from Al-Sarori, Al-Gabr and Sadam.

Gabr completed his treble I the 30th, 71st and 87th minutes whereas Sarori put Yemen in front at the 14th minutes and Sadam made the score 3-0 in 33rd minutes.

Sohel Rana cut the deficit in the 73rd minutes with the consolation goal for Bangladesh.

Yemen and Uzbekistan leveled the points in the table but the latter bettered the goal margin with eight goal in comparison to seven goals from Yemen in the qualifiers.

Along with host Nepal, Bangladesh and Yemen failed to qualify in the final.
