Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' has said it is certain the Nepali Congress would join the government. He urged the journalists not to have doubts regarding the Nepali Congress joining the government because he would be holding concrete talks with the Nepali Congress president Girija Prasad Koirala when he gets back to Kathmandu.
Speaking at a press conference organised by the Revolutionary Journalists Association, Kanchanpur district chapter Saturday, he reiterated that the CPN-Maoist would not split but move forward as a single block.
Responding to a query from journalists, Prime Minister and chairman of the CPN-Maoist Prachanda said what party leader Kiran had told the journalists was true that the tag ‘ Maoist’ would be removed only if all the communist parties become unified and a new party is formed.
Stating he came to know and understand a lot of things about the flood victims during his stay in the Far-west Region, the Prime Minister gave assurances that the government would soon take the initiatives for releasing the necessary budget for the relief and rehabilitation of the flood victims.
He also expressed his determination to establish the Far-west Region University by discussing the topic extensively in the Council of Ministers.
Earlier, Prime Minister and CPN-Maoist chairman Prachanda directed the party workers to assist in public welfare works.
Issuing directives to the police personnel, he called on them to work effectively to check the increasing criminal activities at the border areas.
The Prime Minister also instructed the employees to play constructive role in carrying out public works. Khajura (Banke), Oct. 18: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ arrived in Nepalgunj today in connection with returning to the capital upon completion of his visit to the Far-west Region.
He landed at Ranjha Airport in Nepalgunj at 1800 hrs today.
He is scheduled to leave for the capital tomorrow after one night’s rest here, according to the Chief District Officer of Banke, Narendra Raj Sharma.
The security in Nepalgunj has been beefed up as the Prime Minister is staying here, police said.

Acting President of the Nepali Congress (NC) Sushil Koirala said the continuance of the present government depends on Maoist activities. However, the NC would not enter into this government, he added.
Acting President Koirala expressed such views while releasing a monthly magazine ‘Republic’ edited by Bhishma Ojha amid a function here today.
The integration of armies devaluing the morale of national army would be an irresponsible act, he said, adding that the NC would strongly oppose such act.
There was no ground to believe in Maoist as they have not adhered to the agreements made in the past, Koirala said.
He blamed the Prime Minister Prachanda and his party leaders that they created falsity regarding the People’s Republic. He also challenged Maoists to address the matter they spoke in foreign country.
Similarly, Acting President Koirala expressed concern over UNMIN’s unilateral views for the Maoist’s armies, being mute on Maoist victims.
He further blamed the government that it was not being serious to writing constitution though it was the first priority.
Parliamentarian Shovakar Parajuli, Nepal Press Union Chairman Samir Jung Shah and Guru Raj Ghimire among others expressed their views at the programme chaired by the editor Ojha.
