Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai said on Sunday that a pro-people constitution would be promulgated within May 27 and urged all political parties to work honestly to resolve the disputed issues of the constitution.
Speaking at the 19th anniversary function of Pasang Lhamu Mountaineering Association at Chuchepati, Dr. Bhattarai said that the all the political parties should honour the aspirations of the people.
He said that the parties were near consensus on finalizing the draft of the constitution and added that the issues related to state restructuring, system of governance, electoral model and judiciary system would be resolved with consensus.
In a separate context, Dr Bhattarai said that the Sherpa communities were playing important role to spread the name and fame of Nepal across the world.
He said that Pasang Lhamu Sherpa had contributed to boost the image of the nation and women. He added that the government was serious to honor her.
Chairman of Pasang Lhamu Mountaineering Association Kripashur Sherpa said that the government should honor late Sherpa’s contributions made to the country.
He said that the government should establish a tourism university to develop the tourism sectors of Nepal.
At the function, Dr. Bhattarai paid his tributes late Sherpa who lost her life after conquering the Everest as the first Nepalese woman to achieve the feat.
Paying tribute to the late Sherpa, who clinched success to make the country and country people dignified, the Prime Minister stressed that Nepali women should move ahead taking inspiration from Pasang Lyamu.
Its founder Chair Damannath Dhungana said mountaineer Sherpa is the perennial source of energy and encouragement to all women in the globe.
Pasang Lyamu saw a tragic end of her life in Baisakh 10, 2050 BS some 19 years ago while returning the base camp after successfully scaling the Mount Everest.
