‘Photo exhibition successful’

The first ever exhibition of the pictures of world famous litterateurs that concluded here Saturday evening pulled an impressive numbers of visitors, claimed the organizer.

"We extended the 3-day exhibition to five days upon the request of school parents and around 1,500 audiences visited it," said Kishan Singh Dhami, coordinator of Katajane Publication Pvt Ltd that organized the exhibition.

Dhami said that it was a huge success as the viewers from different walk of life visited and appreciated it.

The pictures of 121 literary figures from 34 countries were put on the show.

On the closing day, 18 poets and 14 artists were invited to compose poems and artworks on the spot by taking the inspiration from renowned literary figures.

The publication will soon bring out a souvenir by including their works.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Nepal Fine Art Academy Kiran Manandhar said that the exhibition proved to be a confluence of art and literature. "This has further inspired us to be engaged in creative activities and get united for the good cause."

Katajane Publication coordinator Dhami said that he planned to take this exhibition to other parts of the country with further revision and improvement if he got necessary support from the concerned sector.

"I also want to organize the exhibition of their photos and biography in local languages in other countries," he said.

He informed that he would bring a comprehensive book containing the pictures of the noted literary figures and their biography in both English and Nepali.

The extended exhibition saw the students, teachers, writers, artists, diplomats and foreign people visiting it, according to organizer.
