A meeting of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) under parliament on Tuesday instructed the Ministry of Finance to submit the details of the disbursement and expenditure of budget of the current fiscal year to the committee by May 2.
The meeting held at the PAC Secretariat asked the Ministry of Finance to submit the current fiscal year’s development and recurrent expenditures details separately to the body.
The meeting lauded the Ministry of Finance for taking action against the Value Added Tax (VAT) defaulters.
The PAC also directed the Ministry of Finance to make public details of companies involved in evading VAT within a week.
The meeting directed the ministry not to transfer the government officials involving in the revenue investigation to the offices which look after the revenue evasion cases.
Ram Krishna Yadav, Chairman of the parliamentary body, said all the ministries have been directed to not transfer the budget.
The committee also directed all the ministries to not transfer the budget allocated for social security.
