Korea Re-insurance Company (KRC) has provided an assistance of US$ 50,000 to the White Hospital located in Solukhumbu district of eastern Nepal under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme.
Likewise, staff of the company had provided various stationery goods and school materials to the students of Pema Chholing School located near the Everest base camp area in the district.
Chief Executive Officer of the Korea Re-insurance Company Park Jong Won recently handed over the assistance amount to chairman of the White Hospital Management Committee amidst at a function organised in Solukhumbu.
Korea Reinsurance Company which has 50 years of business history is among the top insurance companies having the total asset of US $ 5.9 billion in Asia.
The company has its branches in Vietnam, Thailand, China and Indonesia.
It has business relationships with Himalayan General Insurance Company, Everest Insurance Company and Neco Insurance Company of Nepal.
"We are thinking to come to Nepal very soon," informed CEO Park, who has been serving as the CEO of the company since 1997 leading the company towards the newer heights. As a result, the company has been able to establish it’s name on the top list among the world insurance companies.
Talking to The Rising Nepal, CEO Park says "Every year the company offers various facilities to its staff to do outdoor activities.
"This year I along with other 14 member-staff went to Everest Base Camp of Nepal to provide assistance to the poor and needy people of those remote areas," he said.
He said he was impressed by the beauty of Nepal during his trip to Everest base camp.
"As the Nepal is a very beautiful country with a perfect climate along with smiling and kind-hearted people, I am sure that with the establishment of peace in the country and introduction of investment-friendly policies there will be increase in the flow of the foreign investors. Hopefully, we could come to Nepal very soon," he said.
