Seti River flood death toll reaches 26

Pokhara, May 8 With the recovery of five more bodies on Tuesday, the death toll of the Saturday’s flash flood on Seti River in Kaski district has reached 26. Search and rescue of the missing victims is continuing. Forty-two persons are still missing, according to the police. On Tuesday, two of the bodies were found on the bank of the Seti at Kasketi. One body each was recovered at a suspension bridge at Phulbari and Bharat Pokhari. Similarly, the head of a body was found at Kharapani area. The flash flood triggered after the bursting of the river obstructed by an avalanche, had completely swept away Sardikhola Bazar lying on the river bank. Special police teams assisted by sniff dogs brought from Kathmandu have been searching for missing victims. Police said that most of the missing people are feared dead.
