The numbers of patient suffering from diarrhea along with viral fever are increasing each day due to scorching heat in the district.

However, the viral fever seen last year is presumed to be less prevalent this year, but people are suffering due to rise in temperature in the summer, revealed the district hospital.

The numbers of patients with viral fever went up and could be seen in waiting in long queue at Lumbani District Hospital, Sidhharth Child and Women Hospital and Devdaha Medical College.

The administrator of Sidhharth Child and Women Hospital Dr. Binod Parajuli said, "The number of patients who are infected by viral fever and diarrhea has risen suddenly within two and three days."

More than thousands of the patients are visiting the Lumbani District Hospital daily at out patient and emergency departments. The hospital revealed that in comparison to last month, the number of patients increased by 45 per cent.

Due to the unexpected number of patients, two to three patients are being kept at single bed of the emergency.

According to the district hospital, the symptoms seen last year was different from this year. Last year the patients who suffered from viral fever had the symptoms of typhoid, jaundice, cirrhosis, allergy and other ailments. But this year, they had the symptoms different of pain in the body, headache, nausea, tonsil, common cold, and cough along with other diseases.

Dr. Shyam Upadhyay who has been working in the Lumbani District Hospital has requested with the people to remain alert and follow safety measures to ward off viral diseases.

Out of 100 patients visiting the hospitals, more than fifty are found infected with viral fever. This year the number of patients infected patients with typhoid and malaria is less than other diseases.
