Kathmandu, May 26
Siddhartha Arts Foundation is all set to organize the 2nd Kathmandu International Art Festival (KIAF) from 25th November to 21st December in Kathmandu.
The festival titled ‘Earth/Body/Mind’ is dedicated to one of the most critical issues of the 21st century climate change. National and international artistes will raise a consciousness about the environment and the precarious relationship between humans and nature.
Director of Siddhartha Art Foundation Sangeeta Thapa said that the second edition will be held successfully. "I have learned lesson from first event’s weakness, so I will try to lessen the complaints than previous edition."
"This is a non-commercial event, and we have no many sources of fund so that it has been being a challenge for me and technical problem is another challenge," she added.
Including 22 Nepali artists and 31 country’s artists will participate at the up coming exhibition. From the Nepal artistes Asha Dangol, Ashmina Ranjit, Birendra Pratap Singh, Gopal Das Shrestha ‘Kalapremi’, Hitman Gurung, Jupiter Pradhan, Kirti Kaushal Joshi, Lok Chitrakar, Meena Kayastha, MekhLimbu, Mili Pradhan, Narayan Prasad Bohaju, Prasit Sthapit, Sadish Dhakal, Sagar Manandhar, Sanjeev Maharjan, Saurganga Darshandhari, Sheelasha Rajbhandari, Sudarshan Rana, Sumeet Shakya, Sunil Sigdel, Sunita Maharjan and (Subima Shrestha, dance performance at inauguration) will take part in the festivals.
