Kathmandu, June 5
A delegation of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FNCCI) on Tuesday met with Nepali Congress (NC) President Sushil Koirala at the latter’s residence in Maharajgunj.
At the meeting, the FNCCI team informed Koirala about the adverse impact of the political transition on the country’s industrial and business sectors.
The representatives of the business community called for an end to the political transition at the earliest possible. They also said that political parties’ failure to draft a new constitution has adversely affected the country’s economic sector.
Following the meeting, former President of the FNCCI, Chandi Raj Dhakal said they drew an urgent attention of NC President Koirala towards the declining state of the industrial sector.
The industrialists said that they were closing their companies because of strikes, bandhs, power outage and extortion in the name of different organizations.
According to Dhakal, Koirala assured them of extending necessary support to them and run the economic sector without any fear despite the political unrest in the country.
