Bahrain Air increases online offering
By A Staff Reporter

Kathmandu, June 8

Bahrain Air, the private national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain, has further enhanced its website by offering passengers travel insurance and accepting payments through debit cards.

The airline operates daily flights between Bahrain and Kathmandu. This initiative comes from the airline’s strategy to invest in secure technological innovations for the customers’ convenience.

According to the airline, when making their booking online, passengers can now subscribe for travel insurance to have peace of mind while travelling for a nominal fee. The travel insurance provided by Mondial Assistance, offers coverage to passengers in the unlikely event of flight cancellations, lost luggage, emergency medical expenses and much more.

Bahrain Air has also started accepting payments on its website using debit cards.  Abdulla Musaiger, Manager Systems Development, said that the carrier was trying to get closer to its customers and those value added services were some of the many initiatives.

"The acceptance of debit cards is a convenient and time saving tool to our customers and expands our payment channels.  This feature of paying for tickets with Bahrain issued debit cards will be extended to GCC countries at a later stage," he said.

During the past year, Bahrain Air increased its distribution channels for making bookings and accepting payments. Tickets can be booked through Bahrain Air’s website, travel portals, call centre and exchange houses spread across Bahrain.  This is in addition to the sales outlets located in Manama, City Centre Mall, Bahrain International Airport, Lulu Riffa and the recently inaugurated branch at Lulu Hidd.

"We are close to enabling our loyal customers with the option of booking through kiosks conveniently spread around Bahrain," he said.
