The Sherpas reign over JYC
By A Staff Reporter

Kathmandu, April 18

Himalayan Sherpa Club (HSC) defeated Jawalakhel Youth Club (JYC) 1-0 to enter quarter final in the British Gurkha Cup Football Tournament on Wednesday at Dashrath Stadium.

Man of the Match Dinesh Karki netted the leading goal in the 64th minute to make way into the quarterfinal for Sherpa.

Speaking at the post match conference after winning the match coach Nawal Gurung said, "We planned to play good football rather than winning the match. We wanted to keep more possession of the ball." He further added that his team has a problem in the striking line and new strikers will join the team from the next match onwards.

"Our target after this is to win every match."

Jawalakhel Coach, Rajram Karki was happy with his team’s performance. "We have a very new side. And they are very young. We just had few days to prepare for this Championship".

Madhayapur Youth Association (MYA) will take on Nepal Army Club (NAC) on Thursday.
