Finance Minister Barshaman Pun Sunday said that the government was giving top priority to the national pride projects in order to complete them within stipulated time.
Inaugurating the Tax Payers’ Service Office in Baglung, Minister Pun stated that the government has forwarded agendas of economic prosperity with top priority.
"The government has given top priority to the projects of national pride to achieve the goal of prosperity," he said.
He said that the government has declared various mega projects as national pride projects.
The Finance Minister claimed that the country’s economic growth rate would be around five per cent in the current fiscal year.
Minister Pun said that economic growth rate would be high as per the government’s target adding that overall indexes of economy of the country have witnessed a robust growth.
He further said that the economic situation of the country was better than previous years.
"The progress made in peace process recently has added excitement to investors," he said and added that the country was sure to achieve economic prosperity.
Minister Pun said that the government has planned to attract more foreign investment through 70 large scale projects.
Construction of Koshi, Gandaki and Karnali corridors were the top priorities of the government, he said.
Opening track of the East-West Pushpalal Highway has already begun with an objective of completing the tasks within this fiscal year, he said.
