Stallone to receive lifetime achievement award

Sylvester Stallone will be acknowledged for his enduring action movie career with a lifetime achievement award at CinemaCon in Las Vegas.

The Rambo star will be presented with the top prize at the convention’s awards ceremony on 25April at Sin City’s Caesars Palace.

"Sylvester Stallone has proven himself time and time again to be a prolific actor, writer and director over the years. Throughout his incredible career spanning nearly 40 years, Sylvester has established his ability to continually captivate his audiences," the Daily Express quoted CinemaCon general manager Mitch Neuhauser as saying.

Stallone made his big screen resurgence with the 2010 box office hit ‘The Expendables’.

He recently shot a sequel to the action movie and is now working on prison thriller ‘The Tomb’ with fellow veteran action star Arnold Schwarzenegger. (Agencies)

Judge adds Spears’ fiance to conservatorship

Britney’s Spears’ fiance now has the blessing of a judge to help manage the singer’s personal affairs.

Jason Trawick received approval Wednesday from Superior Court Judge Reva Goetz to become a co-conservator over the Grammy-winning singer.

He joins her father Jamie Spears in that role and will have control over several decision-making aspects of her personal life but not in managing her assets.

Spears requested that Trawick join her court conservatorship a few months after the couple became engaged. They appeared in court together earlier this year, but the entertainer did not attend Wednesday’s hearing.

She has been under a court-ordered conservatorship since February 2008, when her father stepped in to take control after she had been hospitalized twice and had a series of incidents involving erratic behavior.

Geraldine Wyle, an attorney for Jamie Spears, said after the hearing that her client was thrilled to have Trawick involved. Much of the hearing was closed to the public.

Trawick, who has served as Spears’ agent, attended the hearing but did not comment after its conclusion.

At the request of attorneys handling the case, the judge did not consider the merits of whether to sell Spears’ former home in the Hollywood Hills for more than $4 million. The sale can go forward without court approval.

The judge sealed several records related to the singer’s health and settlements of lawsuits. (AP)
