Kathmandu, June 11
"Every citizen needs to make a contribution towards the nation if we want to mould a better fate for our country," said President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav at the inauguration of the ‘2nd Grand National Art Exhibition’, in the capital, Monday.
The exhibition hosts works of art by 565 artists from 49 districts across the nation. A total of 611 artworks have been categorized and featured under eight categories--traditional and modern art, traditional and modern sculptures, folk art, handicrafts, architecture are on display at the Araniko gallery and art museum hall.
While talking at the event that was organized by NAFA, President Yadav also stated that he was proud of Nepal artists who have strived to create are comparable to international works of art. "These artists have made me proud as they have created a global platform for Nepali art."
Chancellor of NAFA Kiran Manandhar emphasized on the fact that‘Grand National Fine Art Exhibition’ is an important accomplishment, " my team and I are glad to announce the opening of the ‘2nd Grand Fine Art Exhibition’, which has become an annual platform for Nepali artists across the country."
Senior artist Karna Narsingh Rana was honoured with
the National Fine Art honour-2069, while 36 other artists and
art writers were honoured for their efforts in the art sector, during the event.
