'Allocate sufficient budget to strengthen PSC'
By A Staff Reporter

Kathmandu, June 15

Public Service Commission (PSC) Chairperson Kayo Devi Yami Friday said that the government should allocate sufficient budget to make the PSC active.

Speaking at a function organized by PSC on the occasion of its 62nd anniversary, Yami said that the government had always given low priority to the PSC and demanded the allocation of sufficient budget so that it can function in a desirable manner.

She said that the PSC was trying to play its role actively but financial constraints have created challenges to implement its programmes and activities.

At the anniversary function, the commission awarded and honored senior officers and others who contributed for the development of the PSC on different capacities.

Those who were honoured include under secretary of the Far-Western Regional Directorate Devi Prasad Bagale, branch officer of Narayani Zonal Office Shyam Sundar Shrestha and office secretary of the Central Office Pushpa.

Each award carries a purse of Rs. 20,000.

Similarly, PSC former chairman Tirtha Man Shakya, former members Shree Krishna Yadav, Ganesh Man Gurung, Bijay KC and Bhimdev Bhatta were also honored at the function.

Likewise, Psychologist Kedar Shakti Pandey, outgoing employees Janardan Bhandari, Shivanath Aryal, Shankar Prasad Ghimire and Manbhakta Maharjan were also honored with tokens of love and shawls.
